Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Senior Global Finance Auditor to independently run audits, assess risk, and report findings to senior management. This 18-24 month rotation across cross-functional Finance roles offers potential moves into FP&A or financial reporting. Based at Willis Tower, Chicago or Abbott Park, IL, with substantial travel.

You will build strong controls, collaborate across teams, and gain development in a global healthcare leader with robust benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 3-6 busy seasons in internal/external audit practice, Big 4 highly preferred.
• Ability to work with and analyze large amounts of data to assess audit scope and/or areas of risk.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and SOX; experience in audits for SEC clients and/or SOX processes and controls.
• Project management experience with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to advise on risk and control considerations.
• Manufacturing and/or international business experience preferred.
• Discretion, sound judgment, and handling confidential information.
• CPA or other certification (CFE, CIA, CMA) highly preferred.
• 40-60% travel to Abbott's international and domestic locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial audits of Abbott Laboratories' domestic and international Affiliates.
• Assess accuracy of financial statements, adequacy of internal controls, and identify process improvements.
• Complete audits from planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up.
• Document all audit work clearly and timely.
• Provide input on risks and controls while maintaining independence.
• Promote a team-oriented atmosphere and assist in onboarding and development of new auditors.
• Achieve individual and department goals.
