Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Category Manager to join the Global Procurement Organization in Austin, TX. You will lead strategic sourcing, develop category strategies, and drive cost savings across multiple teams while partnering with suppliers and internal customers.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, deliver measurable value, and communicate results to senior leadership in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of supply chain experience.
• 5+ years of program or project management experience.
• Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
• Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
• Bachelor's degree

Responsibilities

• Establish category sourcing strategies, lead cross-functional strategic sourcing teams, negotiate with suppliers and execute contracts to optimize Amazon’s competitive position
• Drive relationships with category suppliers to meet business goals and cost of ownership targets with continuous improvement
• Manage category suppliers to identify, monitor and optimize opportunities
• Act as a market intelligence provider regarding categories; anticipate strategic opportunities and inform stakeholders
• Drive supplier relationship management to mitigate risk and improve performance
• Identify and report on savings and value targets for category sourcing activities
• Align with internal customers and understand the business application of the category
