Job summary

Huntington National Bank seeks a senior accountant in its commercial accounting group to review complex reconciliations and analyze accounting data. You will assist with general ledger entries and ensure compliance with bank policies and GAAP.

You will also prepare reports for quarter-end and support process improvements, while mentoring junior staff and upholding high quality standards in all work produced.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or economics is required.
• 7+ years of accounting, financial reporting or related regulatory experience.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in Excel; familiarity with banking regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile complex general ledger accounts in line with GAAP and policies.
• Research issues and perform financial analysis on accounting data.
• Prepare and review general ledger journal entries.
• Provide reporting for quarter-end requirements.
• Assist with process improvements and document changes to procedures.
• Mentor less experienced group members and ensure quality of work.
