Job summary

Huntington National Bank is seeking a senior accountant for the commercial accounting group to review complex reconciliations, research accounting data, and assist with general ledger journal entries.

You will independently reconcile complex GL accounts, prepare and upload entries, provide quarter-end reporting, support ad-hoc projects, and mentor junior staff while ensuring compliance with GAAP and bank policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or economics.
• 7+ years of accounting, financial reporting or regulatory experience.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Control mindset and process improvement abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently reconcile complex general ledger accounts in a timely, accurate manner.
• Assist in researching issues with complex GL accounts and perform financial analysis.
• Research and resolve differences in a timely and accurate manner.
• Document changes in reconciliation processes to ensure GAAP compliance.
• Provide reporting for quarter-end requirements.
• Prepare and upload accounting entries.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and train junior staff.
