Job summary

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is seeking an experienced Accountant III in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will oversee general ledger activities, ensure the accuracy of financial transactions, and support month-end and year-end close processes. We are looking for a professional with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting.
• Strong background in financial reporting and general ledger management.
• Experience in a governmental entity or non-profit environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports.

Skills

Strong knowledge of AP processes

Proficiency with ERP systems

Knowledge of GAAP

Excellent communication skills

Strong analytical skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

CPA or related professional certification preferred
