Job summary

NTI, a leading AV integration and Data Center construction firm, is seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant in Rockville, MD to join the Finance team. You will own the general ledger across multiple entities, support month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations in a fast-paced, project-based environment.

The ideal candidate has strong GAAP knowledge, 5+ years of GL experience, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive GL/accounting experience in multi-entity environments.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial modeling).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work in-person, full-time, at the Rockville, MD office.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process for the general ledger across multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate close
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly/quarterly/annual forecast
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, depreciation, intercompany transactions, and other standard/non-standard entries
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations across all entities, researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
• Review and analyze trial balances, identifying and correcting misclassifications or unusual variances
• Partner with the Project Accounting team to ensure job cost activity is properly reflected in the general ledger and reconciled to job cost reports and WIP schedules
• Maintain and enforce the chart of accounts, ensuring consistency and proper mapping across entities
• Support intercompany transactions and eliminations
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
• Support the Financial Controller with cash flow analysis, budget-to-actual variance reporting, and ad hoc financial analysis
• Prepare audit schedules and serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and tax preparers
• Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls, close efficiency, and reporting accuracy
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff and Project Accountants on GL-related matters
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies across all entities
