Job summary

JW Marriott in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Senior GL Accountant for a full-time role within the Finance department. You will be responsible for accurate journal entries, detailed GL reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting while supporting process improvements and standardization.

Must ensure GAAP compliance and contribute to guest satisfaction by upholding JW Marriott Core Values. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least 5 years of full cycle accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, CPA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in full cycle accounting.
• Fixed asset accounting knowledge and GL reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review accurate journal entries reflecting accrual basis accounting per GAAP.
• Monitor and report daily banking transactions.
• Analyze, record, and reconcile account accruals from various operating departments.
• Maintain fixed asset reporting and entries including additions, disposals, transfers, and CIP, and reconcile roll forwards.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of fixed assets records including depreciation.
• Prepare and maintain monthly debt roll-forward and interest accruals/expenses.
• Coordinate month-end closing processes and ensure entries are completed within deadlines.
• Coordinate audits and prepare schedules for regulators and auditing firms.
• Prepare, review, and submit local and state taxes.
• Identify and correct errors by reviewing journal entries.
• Review intercompany transactions posting in GL.
• Generate financial reports as requested.
• Maintain internal controls and assist with policies and compliance.
