Job summary

BCI~IT is seeking a hands-on senior developer to own how teams build, test, secure, and ship code on GitHub. This long-term contract allows 1099 or W2 options, and requires authorized work in the US with onsite interviews.

You will design and maintain GitHub Actions workflows, drive security integration, and mentor teams on CI/CD best practices. The role demands 7+ years in development/DevOps with strong scripting and cloud experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in development, DevOps or platform engineering with deep GitHub experience.
• Proven experience creating reusable GitHub Actions workflows in production.
• Strong scripting in Bash, PowerShell or Python and solid Git expertise.
• Experience with APIs, containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Clear communicator who can set standards and gain buy-in from teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain complex reusable CI/CD workflows in GitHub Actions.
• Build multi-stage pipelines including builds, tests, deployments and approvals.
• Set GitHub engineering standards for branching and releases.
• Integrate security into pipelines with code scanning and secret management.
• Troubleshoot and accelerate pipelines; coach teams on CI/CD and DevSecOps.

Job description

Are you the person teams call when a GitHub Actions pipeline breaks? We're looking for a hands-on senior developer to own how our teams build, test, secure, and ship code on GitHub. This will be a long-term contract role where you can work on 1099, W2 with or without benefits. Open for US citizens, Green card, Perm Resident, and OPT EAD. No H1 visa sponsorship available. No C2C/subcontractors.

What you'll do:

• Design and maintain complex, reusable CI/CD workflows in GitHub Actions
• Build multi-stage pipelines: builds, automated testing, deployments, approvals and environment-specific configs
• Set GitHub engineering standards for branching, pull requests, branch protection and release management
• Build security into the pipeline with code scanning, secret scanning, Dependabot and OIDC
• Troubleshoot and speed up pipelines across teams
• Coach developers on CI/CD automation and DevSecOps best practices

What you bring:

• [7+] years in development, DevOps or platform engineering, with deep GitHub experience
• Proven experience with reusable GitHub Actions workflows in production
• Strong Git, YAML and scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell or Python)
• Experience with APIs, containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and AWS, Azure or GCP
• Clear communicator who can set standards and win buy-in

Nice to have:

• GitHub Enterprise admin, GitHub Advanced Security, GitHub certifications, Terraform, and migrations from Jenkins, Azure DevOps or GitLab.
