Job summary

City of Mesa is seeking a Senior GIS Technician to develop, create, and maintain GIS databases and mappings. You will lead GIS Technicians, review data for quality, and support complex spatial requests for the Transportation Department and citywide needs.

The role requires experience with GIS software, data management, and map production, with duties spanning field and office research and citizen inquiries. Valid Arizona driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in GIS, Cartography, Geography, Civil Engineering or Computer Science.
• Minimum two years' experience working with GIS or related field.
• 6 months to 1 year experience using Microsoft Office, ArcGIS Desktop, or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Develop, create, and maintain GIS databases, coverages, layers, and linkages to various databases.
• Provide lead supervision and technical support to GIS Technicians and Technician Trainees.
• Create map layouts/views of high difficulty and complexity and respond to map information inquiries.
