Job summary
SAM, LLC is seeking a dedicated GIS Analyst/Technician to support transmission projects in the Indianapolis/Plainfield, IN area or Cincinnati, OH. You will develop maps, deploy web GIS apps, and manage geospatial data to support environmental, permitting, and siting workflows.
The role emphasizes data quality, collaboration with stakeholders, and delivering actionable geospatial insights. Hybrid work with some remote tasks and onsite collaboration is expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, CS or similar field.
- 3+ years of full-time GIS work experience.
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro/Desktop/Enterprise/Field Maps.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Google Earth Pro, Power BI.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Responsibilities
- Create professional maps and figures of transmission assets and upgrades across workflows.
- Develop and deploy web GIS applications and maps for environmental analysis.
- Support field data collection with ArcGIS Field Maps and portal configurations.
- Conduct geospatial analysis including route evaluation and constraint mapping.
- Create parcel maps and owner lists for public engagement notifications.
- Prepare data and maps for budgeting and matting cost estimates.
