Job summary

The Texas Department of Transportation's TPP Division in Austin seeks a GIS Analyst II or III to maintain roadway data, create geospatial products, and improve daily workflows. Expertise with ESRI ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Python or FME, and Oracle databases is valued. Salary ranges from $65,000 to $75,000 yearly with nonexempt status.

Two levels exist: GIS Analyst II (65k–70k) and GIS Analyst III (70k–75k). Minimum qualifications include a Geography/GIS degree and ESRI experience; a valid driver's

Qualifications

• 1 year using ESRI products in cartographic production, GIS or GPS analysis.
• Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems or related field.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to drive a state vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain GIS databases and cartographic products using the ESRI suite.
• Use ArcGIS Online to create/maintain feature services and web mapping apps.
• Update roadway network and attributes using linear referencing.
• Develop data processes with Python and/or FME to improve workflows.
• Research new software/techniques to improve performance.
