Job summary

Audubon Companies is seeking a Senior GIS Analyst in Houston, TX to perform analysis and data management for survey and ROW activities. You will digitize and audit energy infrastructure data, create maps, and support field teams with GIS tools and scripts.

The role requires ESRI ArcGIS Desktop/Pro experience, SQL Server, PODS/UPDM, Python, and LiDAR processing know-how, with emphasis on data quality and HSSE compliance. Collaboration with engineers is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences (Geography, GIS). Experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Pro software including ESRI Apps like Field Maps/Survey 123/ArcGIS Online (AGOL)/ESRI Portal and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Required.
  • Experience with relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server), the PODS, UPDM, Python and Arcade Expression Language.
  • Experience with processing LiDAR and Photogrammetry Data-sets.
  • Experience with Geodatabase design and schema in ArcSDE.

Responsibilities

  • Digitize and update pipeline and related energy industry infrastructure features in a spatial database using GIS software.
  • Review and audit information collected from various data sources used to digitize energy infrastructure features, identify and resolving discrepancies.
  • Create hardcopy maps according to MAP Search specifications in GIS software.
  • Utilize and maintain SQL scripts to perform basic routines in the utilization of a database; scan and geo-register maps; entering new data into a document database; extract digital data from departmental databases for delivery to clients.
  • Collaborate with project leaders and engineers on GIS-related updates from pipeline construction projects.
  • Provide GIS software and GPS hardware support for field technicians.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to resolve discrepancies, improve data quality and provide solutions to problems via GIS.
  • Develop process documentation and provide training to stakeholders.
  • Comply with all HSSE standards and regulations.
  • Actively participate in hazard identification and observation programs and report unsafe acts or incidents.

Job description

Audubon Field Solutions is currently seeking a Senior GIS Analyst to join our Team in our Houston, TX office. The Senior GIS Analyst will perform analysis and data management tasks in association with survey and ROW activities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Digitize and update pipeline and related energy industry infrastructure features in a spatial database using GIS software.
  • Review and audit information collected from various data sources (source maps, aerial and satellite imagery, regulatory filings, etc.) used to digitize energy infrastructure features, identify and resolving discrepancies.
  • Create hardcopy maps according to MAP Search specifications in GIS software.
  • Utilize and maintain SQL scripts to perform basic routines in the utilization of a database Scan and geo-register maps; entering new data into a document database Extract digital data from departmental databases for delivery to clients.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geosciences (Geography, GIS). Experience considered in lieu of degree.
