Job summary

Devon Energy Corp. is seeking a Senior GIS Professional to lead AI-enabled geospatial initiatives, build advanced spatial models, and improve data quality and decision support across geospatial workflows.

You will guide the GIS team, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and implement automated GIS solutions that strengthen data integrity and map accuracy across enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Science, Computer Science, Geomatics Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in geospatial data management, remote sensing, cartography, or seismic data analysis.
• Experience applying AI, ML, or automation to geospatial workflows.
• GIS professional certifications (GISP, Geospatial Intelligence) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Helps lead the GIS team's AI strategy by identifying, prototyping, and implementing AI, machine learning, and automation use cases that improve geospatial work.
• Establishes responsible AI practices for GIS, including data governance, security, validation of AI outputs, and policy compliance.
• Enables GIS staff and business users to apply AI tools and automation through mentoring and training.
• Acts as GIS point of contact for enterprise app integration, maintains map services and web apps, and partners with the business to solve data and tech challenges.
• Develops new techniques for streamlining processes, performs intermediate geoprocessing and workflow automation, and provides end-user support.
