Job summary

UNOPS is seeking a Senior GESI Officer to support the RIISE Secretariat in integrating gender equality and social inclusion into project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting. The role involves translating commitments into practical actions, developing guidance and evidence, and ensuring consistency across governing documents.

Qualifications

• Experience in gender equality, gender mainstreaming, social inclusion or related areas.
• Experience providing technical advice for design, monitoring or reporting of development projects.

Responsibilities

• Identify and track GESI commitments, indicators and reporting requirements for RIISE.
• Provide technical inputs to work plans, guidance, and reporting documents.
• Translate GESI commitments into practical actions, milestones and evidence requirements.
• Review project documents for GESI alignment and suggest practical adjustments.
• Develop and monitor GESI indicators, targets and data verification methods.
• Contribute GESI inputs to risk management, safeguards, stakeholder engagement and M&E processes.
• Prepare and maintain evidence of GESI commitment implementation, including analyses and consultations.
• Support responses to technical queries and reporting requirements related to GESI.
• Coordinate with RIISE Secretariat to reflect GESI responsibilities across functions.
• Create checklists, templates and tools to support consistent GESI implementation.
• Support capacity-building and awareness activities on GESI commitments.
• Periodically review progress against GESI commitments and derive lessons learned.
• Participate in meetings with Canada, UNOPS teams and stakeholders on GESI implementation.
• Provide advisory support to ensure GESI considerations are integrated in assistance design.
