Weston & Sampson seeks a Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer for our NC/SC offices. This role requires 10+ years in geotechnical engineering with strong project management, leadership, and communication skills.

PE licensure is required, Master’s degree preferred, and travel to sites/meetings is expected. You will lead complex technical work, prepare proposals and reports, and mentor junior staff while contributing to the firm’s collaborative, employee-owned culture and community-focused

Job description

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer in any of our North or South Carolina offices with 10+ years of experience with comprehensive experience in geotechnical engineering and project management.

What you’ll do:

• Responsible for project management; preparation of proposals, complex technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Managing and reviewing work of junior staff and mentoring.
• Some travel will be required to client meetings and project sites.

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• Master’s degree preferred with concentration in geotechnical engineering
• 16+years of diverse and proven geotechnical experience
• PE certificationrequired
• Experience with dam safety engineering is a plus.
• Familiar with geotechnical aspects of Building Codes and Design Manuals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong leadership anddecision-makingskills
• Must be motivated, responsible, and able to work independently
• A validdriver’s license isrequired
• PE certificationrequired
