At Mott MacDonald in Texas, we are seeking a senior project engineer with a strong geotechnics background to strengthen our Underground Group across the U.S. You’ll lead complex geotechnical design for transportation, rail, water and energy projects, delivering practical, robust, constructible solutions.

This client-facing, delivery-focused role blends hands-on technical delivery with mentorship and collaboration across our regional and global ground engineering network to share best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• PE license in Texas (CA license acceptable or ability to obtain).
• 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience delivering geotechnical design on infrastructure projects in the U.S.

Responsabilités

• Plan and manage geotechnical investigations, including fieldwork, laboratory testing, and data interpretation.
• Develop ground models, geotechnical parameters, and design assumptions.
• Deliver geotechnical analysis and design across all project stages, including calculations, reports and specs.
• Identify and manage geotechnical risks to deliver safe, compliant, and constructible solutions.
• Coordinate geotechnical inputs within multidisciplinary design teams.
• Lead structured management of geotechnical data and interpretive datasets.
• Develop and maintain digital ground models.
• Improve delivery efficiency through automation (e.g., scripts, templates, dashboards).
• Promote best practice in data governance and auditable workflows.
• Provide technical guidance on complex geotechnical challenges.
• Contribute to proposals, bids, and work winning activities, including scope development, methodology, and technical review.
• Mentor junior engineers and support capability development.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and adoption of best practices across projects.
