Job summary

Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. seeks a Geotechnical Engineer (PE or PE Eligible) in our Chicago office to support our geotechnical engineering practice.

The candidate will oversee field and laboratory tasks, manage budgets and schedules, coordinate with vendors and clients, and lead construction materials testing projects. Requirements include a Professional Civil Engineer Certification or EIT and 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Professional Civil Engineer Certification or EIT required.
• 5+ years of experience preferred.
• Must be able to work in an ambiguous, complex, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing of Geotechnical Engineering Project Budget and Schedule
• Responsible for supervision/oversight of field and laboratory sampling and testing
• Requires some field and laboratory work
• Training of staff level personnel
• Contracting of projects with vendors and clients
• Project lead for Construction Materials Testing Projects
• Approving Vendor Invoices, Building T&M Invoices
• Geotechnical Report preparation and review
• Review of lab and field data from others
• Client interactions/Responses to RFI's
