Job summary

Certerra is seeking a licensed Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing efforts in Florida. You will sign and seal reports, supervise staff, and mentor engineers while aligning deliverables with local codes and standards.

You will manage projects from foundation design through site development, collaborating with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
• 5–10 years geotechnical engineering experience, including foundation design and subsurface investigation.
• Experience with construction materials testing (CMT) reviews of soils, concrete, and asphalt testing/special inspection reports.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, LPile, and other geotechnical/foundation design software.
• Strong written and verbal communication for client-facing work.

Responsibilities

• Sign and seal geotechnical reports and deliverables per licensure.
• Manage geotechnical operations for residential developments and foundation recommendations.
• Oversee CMT activities and ensure testing results meet standards (ASTM, ACI, local codes).
• Provide supervision to engineers and field technicians; review their work for accuracy.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports, proposals, analyses, and client deliverables.
• Perform foundation design using AutoCAD, LPile, and related software.
• Interpret subsurface data and develop site development recommendations.
• Evaluate CMT data for conformance and flag nonconformances to clients.
