Job summary

Schnabel, Inc. in Greensboro, NC is seeking a senior Geotechnical Engineer to support our geotechnical and dam projects. You will lead technical efforts, mentor staff, and collaborate with clients to deliver high-quality analyses and designs.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 10+ years in consulting geotechnical engineering, and strong skills in AutoCAD, GIS, and geotechnical software; travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer and able to obtain licensure by comity (e.g. NCEES record).
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in consulting geotechnical engineering.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software and AutoCAD/GIS tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage, execute, and provide technical support on geotechnical and interdisciplinary dam projects.
• Review field investigation boring logs, evaluate instrumentation data, and conduct engineering analyses.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports, drawings, specifications, and presentations.
• Communicate with clients/regulators and supervise staff.
• Support development of a positive Greensboro office culture and firm brand.
