Job summary

CTL Engineering is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Morgantown, WV to lead geotechnical explorations, supervise technical aspects, and deliver customized studies and reports for clients. The role involves coordinating with agencies and project teams from concept through execution.

You will guide subsurface investigations, review designs for compliance, and contribute to proposals, budgets, and business development. A WV PE license is required and travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering on various civil projects.
• West Virginia PE licensure is required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
• Experience with transportation projects and agencies such as WVDOT, ODOT, KYTC, or related public agencies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analyses, calculations, and recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided.
• Performing geotechnical explorations and investigations, soils/materials testing, maintenance of lab quality.
• Interacting with clients to create new business by providing quality customer service and responsiveness, assist in planning and execution of subsurface investigation programs, locating test‑boring inspections in the field and utility coordination.
• Reviewing drawings and construction to assure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Preparing proposals and cost estimates, tracking and evaluating project progress, budgets, and recommend changes.
