Job summary

Platinum Global Talent Solutions is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for the Hudson Tunnel Project in the New York/New Jersey area. You will lead geotechnical investigations, supervise foundation construction, and prepare technical reports essential to a landmark transit project.

The role requires 5–10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, a BS in Civil Engineering (MS preferred), and professional registration (EIT/PE).

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with geotechnical coursework and soil/rock mechanics experience; Master’s preferred.
• 5–10 years of related work experience in NY/NJ area.
• EIT certification; PE registration preferred.
• Familiarity with geotechnical design tools for deep/shallow foundations and slope stability.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, NJDOT and Amtrak standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee geotechnical subsurface investigations and record-keeping.
• Supervise pile foundation construction, ground improvement, and monitoring activities.
• Monitor daily geotechnical and foundation construction work and prepare field reports.
• Prepare and review Geotechnical Data Reports, Geotechnical Baseline Reports, and foundation design reports.
• Review design/construction documents, RFIs, submittals and change orders.
• Perform geotechnical design for underground structures and foundations.
• Characterize ground conditions and prepare geotechnical profiles.
• Model deep foundations and excavation support systems using geotechnical software.
• Conduct slope stability and liquefaction/seismic site class analyses.
