Tetra Tech invites applications for an Engineering Geologist (part-time) in Diamond Bar, CA. The role focuses on geotechnical investigations, fault studies, and geologic assessments across Southern California with some US travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in geology with 25+ years of direct relevant professional experience.
• PG and CEG or the ability to sit for a CEG exam.
• Proficiency in geologic field logging of borings, test pits, and trenches.
• Proficiency in geologic field mapping.
• Management of field and office staff.
• Analyses of engineering geological data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; some illustration software desirable (AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, ArcGIS).
• Preparation of proposals and reports.
• Self-starter with strong written and oral communication; ability to travel up to 20–25%.

Responsibilities

• Develop, perform and/or manage geotechnical field investigations, fault studies, site inspections, and construction observations and testing.
• Perform analyses of collected data for geotechnical design, permitting, certification and assessment.
• Prepare geologic evaluations including maps, logs, and written descriptions.
• Conduct geologic hazard evaluations focusing on fault studies and landsliding.
• Prepare and/or assist in design reports.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff.
• Perform peer reviews with emphasis on fault studies.
