Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an entry-level environmental professional to support field investigations and reporting across Southern California, including San Bernardino, Pasadena, and Irvine offices. You will assist with soil and groundwater sampling, data interpretation, and preparation of phase I/II documents under supervision.

The role emphasizes hands-on fieldwork, technical writing, and collaboration with geologists, engineers, and project managers, with potential for hybrid work within 50 miles

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Geology required.
• Entry to 3 years post degree.
• Proficiency in technical writing and verbal communication.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word).
• Experience with geologic, engineering, scientific or general environmental projects and data interpretation.
• Must be able to pass physical exam to wear respirator per 29 CFR 1910.134 and medical monitoring for hazardous waste site operations per 29 CFR 1910.120.
• Pre-employment drug screen required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support field investigations including soil sampling, groundwater sampling, borehole drilling, and well installations.
• Fieldwork will include on-site training and oversight by staff, team or independent work depending on task complexity.
• Prepare Phase I ESA reports, work plans, sampling and analysis plans, remedial investigation reports, groundwater monitoring plans and reports.
• Assist in preparing all plans and reports under supervision of a Staff-Level or Senior Geologist/Engineer/Scientist.
• Perform tasks using critical-thinking, scientific, geologic and engineering analytical techniques.
• Manage and oversee subcontractors as needed.
• Local travel and field work required.
