Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for the Gateway Project in the NYC/NJ region to lead subsurface investigations and geotechnical design for complex underground structures. This role requires extensive experience with deep foundations, slope stability, and instrumentation during construction.

The ideal candidate will bring 12–15 years in geotechnical engineering, NJ-registered PE, and proficiency with LPILE, GROUP, FB-MultiPier, Slope-W, Seep-W, DeepEx and Plaxis.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering and a MSc in geotechnical engineering.
• 12–15 years of related experience, preferably NYC area.
• New Jersey Professional Engineer registration required.
• Experience with geotechnical manuals and AASHTO/NJDOT/Amtrak standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate geotechnical subsurface investigations.
• Prepare and review Geotechnical Data Reports and Geotechnical Baseline Reports.
• Perform geotechnical design for underground structures and foundations.
• Ground characterization based on subsurface data and site investigations.
• Perform deep foundation design and soil/rock analyses.
• Attend meetings, coordinate with contractors, and provide field oversight.
