CDM Smith is seeking a senior Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to join our Norfolk, VA team. You will lead engineering designs for foundations, dams, and geo-environmental projects, review designs for regulatory compliance, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with sales to respond to RFPs.

Travel of 20–40% may be required to support projects domestic and international. A PE license and a Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical/Civil/Mining or Geologic Engineering are essential, with 7 years of

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsabilidades

• With general direction, creates excavation, dewatering, shallow/deep foundations, dams/reservoirs/levees, geo-environmental projects, etc.
• engineering designs of basic to high complexity to meet client project requirements.
• Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and signs off on completed designs.
• Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications.
• Updates design requirements as necessary.
• Performs soil sampling analyses and modeling.
• Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc..
