Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a full-time Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our geotechnical design practice in the Easton area of Columbus, OH. You will work on high-profile highway, bridge, aviation, rail and transit projects across the Ohio Pennsylvania footprint.

The role emphasizes field investigations, geotechnical analysis, report writing and collaboration with clients, consultants and contractors in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical coursework.
• 5–10+ years geotechnical experience including analysis and report writing.
• Experience with geotechnical software (gINT, SLIDE, SETTLE3, LPILE, ALLPILE, ReSSA) and LRFD design.
• Strong problem-solving, independent work and teamwork.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to interact with clients and inspectors.
• Willingness to conduct field investigations and multi-project work.

Responsibilities

• Manage geotechnical investigations and field programs.
• Analyze soils and rocks for foundation design and slope stability.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, memos and construction documents.
• Respond to qualifications requests and proposals.
• Support growth and marketing of geotechnical practice in Ohio/PA.
• Oversee on-site geotechnical inspections during construction.
