Job summary

DLZ Corporation is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its growing geotechnical team. The role focuses on design, analysis, field investigations, and client engagement for major infrastructure projects across the Midwest.

The position requires 10+ years of geotechnical experience, PE licensure, and leadership capabilities. Travel to project sites and collaboration with multiple disciplines are expected as part of project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or geological engineering; master's preferred.
• 10+ years geotechnical engineering experience with dams, levees, and/or large bridge foundations.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the U.S.; Ohio PE preferred.
• Experience with ODOT projects and/or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is highly desired.
• Available for occasional short-term travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical design and analysis for bridges, buildings, dams and levees.
• Oversee field investigations, inspections, and geotechnical reporting.
• Mentor junior engineers and review technical work.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support proposals and occasional marketing activities.

DLZ is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing geotechnical team. This position may be based in Columbus, Ohio; Akron, Ohio; Lexington, Kentucky; Chicago, Illinois; Indianapolis, Indiana; South Bend, Indiana; or Burns Harbor, Indiana , with opportunities to support projects throughout the Midwest.

We are looking for a talented professional with 10+ years of experience delivering geotechnical solutions for bridges, dams, levees, and other major infrastructure projects. This role combines technical leadership, project delivery, client engagement, and mentorship while working on challenging, high-profile projects across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead geotechnical design and analysis for bridges, buildings/ structures, dams and levees.
• Oversee field investigations, inspections, and geotechnical reporting.
• Mentor junior engineers and review technical work.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support proposals and occasional marketing activities.
• Ensure safety compliance and represent company values.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or Geological Engineering (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience, with expertise in dams, levees, and/or large bridge foundations.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the U.S. (Ohio PE preferred).
