The Senior Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating geotechnical-related project assignments. This role involves planning and developing engineering projects, including defining project scope, and applying extensive knowledge in geotechnical engineering. The engineer exercises judgment in evaluating, selecting, adapting, and modifying standard techniques and procedures, while also devising new approaches to address complex problems.
Experience:
Geotechnical engineering in coastal areas
Settlement analysis
Slope stability analysis
LPILE, APILE, and related tools
Essential Functions
Apply extensive, diversified knowledge of engineering principles across a broad range of assignments.
Review complete project documentation to ensure conformity and quality assurance.
Serve as a technical specialist or advisor to upper management and staff.
Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage multiple projects or projects of major significance.
Prepare project proposals based on defined scope and complexity.
Supervise and organize the work of staff engineers and technicians.
Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assigned projects.
Maintain continuous interaction with clients, customers, officials, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
Attend project meetings and present engineering-related topics as needed.
Maintain consistent and timely attendance.
Other Responsibilities
Contribute to business development efforts and collaborate with CMT staff.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Minimum of 15 years of geotechnical engineering experience
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
Physical Requirements
Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, as needed.
Must be able to sit for extended periods and operate a computer.
Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
