Job Description

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will work on a variety of geotechnical projects with our Mid-Atlantic Geotechnical Engineering group where you will execute project work that includes commercial development and ground solar.

Responsibilities

1. Coordinate with internal and external multi-discipline teams to prepare proposals and execute projects.
2. Prepare geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications for foundations and earthwork for a wide range of projects including, retaining walls, mass transmission lines, and mass pipelines.
3. Formulate engineering analysis including soil and rock classification; shallow and deep foundation capacity, immediate and consolidation settlement; slope stability analysis; geohazard evaluation; ground improvement; and earth retention systems.
4. Mentor junior staff for guidance and technical expertise.
5. Safely coordinate and execute field exploration programs, construction observation, and associated documentation.
6. Support the entire construction phase of projects.
7. Positively interact with client representatives.
8. Develop and manage project scope, project budgets, work breakdown structures, and schedules.
9. Make technical recommendations and decisions within project scope.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor of Science in civil engineering (geotechnical or structural), Master of Science preferred.
2. 10+ years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
3. Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License. Licensure in the State of Pennsylvania or Maryland.
4. Experience with gINT, Lpile, SlopeW, Settle 3D, Slide and CAD software.
5. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Word.
6. Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
7. Willingness to travel throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.
