Job summary

Continental Resources, Inc. seeks a Senior Operations Geologist to plan, coordinate, monitor, and report geologic and geosteering activities for horizontal drilling rigs.

You will work with exploration, geophysical, and asset teams to prepare for future development and exploration projects across the company's areas. The role requires advanced geosteering skills, strong understanding of drilling parameters and mudlogging, and collaboration with multiple technical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Geoscience or Earth Sciences from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of five (5) years of recent geosteering experience.
• An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Plan geological prognoses for permitting and drilling of horizontal wells.
• Collaborate with exploration and development geologists for correlations and prospecting.
• Incorporate seismic data into well planning and risk assessment with geophysical staff.
• Geosteering of horizontal wells using StarSteer or similar software.
• Coordinate with asset teams to optimize geologic operations with other technical teams.
• Oversee mud loggers and remote geosteering teams; communicate with drilling teams.
• Post-drill assessment of hazards to improve safety and efficiency.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance operational performance.
