University of North Dakota's Energy & Environmental Research Center seeks a Principal Geologist to lead petroleum geology research and client-led projects. You will integrate geologic data, mentor staff, and direct multidisciplinary efforts across subsurface energy topics, including carbon storage and enhanced recovery.

You will develop proposals, secure funding, and present findings to industry and government partners, contributing to strategic research directions at the EERC.

Qualificações

• MS in Geology or Geoscience required.
• Minimum 10 years of professional petroleum exploration/related research.
• Significant Williston Basin experience including Bakken/Three Forks areas.
• Experience integrating well logs, cores, seismic, and production data.
• Experience building regional geologic frameworks and reservoir models.
• Criminal History Background Check completed.

Responsabilidades

• Lead petroleum geology research and manage commercial projects from proposal to reporting.
• Conduct basin analysis, petroleum systems evaluation, and reservoir characterization.
• Integrate geologic, geophysical, petrophysical, and engineering datasets.
• Provide technical leadership on subsurface energy projects including carbon storage.
• Develop proposals and secure funding from industry and federal sponsors.
• Maintain relationships with clients, partners, and government stakeholders.
• Present findings via reports, publications, and client briefings.
• Mentor geoscientists and guide the EERC's strategic direction.
• Lead reservoir studies for hydrocarbon development and EOR initiatives.
• Design workshops and industry collaborations to promote knowledge transfer.
