Job summary

Walker Elliott in Fort Worth, Texas, seeks an experienced Senior Geologist to lead subsurface evaluation across development, operations, and asset optimization.

The role requires 10+ years of upstream geology, strong carbonate reservoir and petrophysics expertise, and the ability to work independently in a lean private-company environment. Permian Basin experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of upstream oil & gas geology experience.
  • Strong background in development geology and operations.
  • Permian Basin experience strongly preferred, with broader Lower 48 experience also considered.
  • Experience with carbonate reservoirs and carbonate petrophysics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead geological evaluation and interpretation supporting development planning, drilling, and ongoing operations.
  • Integrate subsurface, petrophysical, well, production, and geologic data to identify development opportunities and optimize assets.
  • Provide geological support throughout the well planning and lifecycle, coordinating with reservoir, drilling, completions, and operations teams.
  • Perform detailed carbonate reservoir characterization and petrophysical analysis to support development and investment decisions.
  • Evaluate acreage, drilling inventory, development concepts, and subsurface risk in support of growth strategy.
