Job summary

The Senior Geologist at NACCO Natural Resources will organize and interpret geologic data to develop stratified models and reports, plan drilling programs to support mining operations and marketing initiatives, and prepare Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve disclosures for regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities include supervising drilling crews, QA/QC of data, constructing geologic models with Vulcan/Origin, and delivering maps and reports for permit applications, while ensuring compliance with

Qualifications

Requires a minimum four-year degree in Geology or related discipline.
Professional Registration through ASBOG or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years of relevant geologic experience.
Knowledge of geostatistical principles and modeling is required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience preparing Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve disclosures under NI 43-101.

Responsibilities

Interpret drill hole logs and logs to determine thickness and volume of geologic units.
QA/QC large geologic data and prepare input files for models.
Construct and validate geologic models using Vulcan, Origin, or similar software.
Plan, organize, and conduct drilling programs to support mining operations and marketing.
Lead drilling program operations and supervise crews.
Prepare maps, cross-sections, resource estimates, and reports for permits.
