Job summary

General Atomics seeks an experienced Senior Geologist to lead field and office operations, manage drilling programs, and mentor a team of geologists, engineers, and technicians. You will oversee data interpretation, reporting, and regulatory compliance while guiding program budgets and timelines.

The role requires strong expertise in stratigraphy, sedimentology, and geochemistry, with advanced GIS and 3D modeling skills. Extensive travel and relocation to project sites are expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's, Masters, or PhD in a scientific or related technical field with progressive experience.
• BS in Geology or equivalent; MS/PhD preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive geology and project management experience; PG registration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead exploration and development drilling operations and supervise contractors.
• Oversee site preparation, dirtwork, and drill hole location planning.
• Apply geologic analysis, log interpretation, resource estimation and planning.
• Direct, review, and approve technical plans and reports; mentor staff.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across operations.
• Manage leases and landowner agreements; liaise with stakeholders.
• Maintain geology, geochemical, and geophysical databases with real-time updates.
• Communicate with senior management to address schedule and budget impacts.
