Job description

HETI has a great opportunity for a Senior Geologist/Senior Environmental Scientist/Senior Engineer with 10+ years of experience in the environmental field.

This role will be responsible for providing technical and business skills and contributing to advanced solutions across various sectors including environmental, chemical, commercial, manufacturing, government, energy, financial, insurance, and legal. The position is 100% remote.

The candidate should have experience managing consulting assignments, work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, and be proficient in analyzing and communicating information. Collaboration with agencies, organizations, and individuals to guide decision-making is essential. The candidate must also demonstrate proficiency in project management and collaboration within the organization.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Client Management & Communication:

• Serve as the primary contact for clients and stakeholders, providing project updates.
• Collaborate with project teams including engineers, geologists, and technicians.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly to clients and stakeholders.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:

• Coordinate with regulatory agencies for permits and approvals.
• Prepare and submit reports such as site investigation, risk assessment, remedial action, and closure reports.
• Stay current with environmental regulations and guidelines.

Remediation Planning/Implementation:

• Develop and implement remediation plans based on investigations and risk assessments.
• Design and oversee remediation strategies like excavation, soil vapor extraction, groundwater treatment, or in-situ bioremediation.
• Ensure compliance with regulations during remediation.

Site Assessments:

• Manage and conduct site investigations to identify contamination sources and evaluate risks.
• Collect and analyze environmental samples.
• Perform data interpretation, risk assessment, and modeling.

Quality Control:

• Implement quality assurance measures for data collection and reporting.
• Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance.
• Address deviations or discrepancies promptly.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Current PE or PG license
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, or related field
• 10+ years experience in site investigations, remediation, and evaluations
• Solid understanding of environmental regulations and best practices
• Excellent project management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of sampling techniques and laboratory analysis methods
