Job summary

Hawaiian Electric is seeking a Generation Engineer / Sr Generation Engineer in Kapolei, Hawaii to lead project management and provide technical support for power plant operation and maintenance. The role focuses on optimizing availability, reliability, and efficiency of generating units, with collaboration across teams and with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities include directing capital and O&M projects, budgeting input, and supporting emergency response activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent with knowledge across chemistry, physics and electrical systems.
• Experience with project management and capital/O&M project execution.
• Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital and O&M projects for power plants, ensuring on-budget and on-schedule.
• Provide technical support and optimize plant availability and efficiency.
• Assist in budget inputs for manpower and material allocation.
• Investigate forced outages and analyze equipment performance.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet objectives.
