Hiring Range: The hiring range for the Generation Engineer is $99,900.00 to $127,500.00; for the Senior Generation Engineer it is $109,900.00 to $142,600.00. The selected candidate will be placed according to skills and qualifications.

Generation Engineer
Job Function

Provide project management, engineering, and technical support for the execution and coordination of power plant operation, maintenance, and project activities to optimize the availability and reliability of generating units.

Essential Functions
  • Direct and coordinate capital and O&M projects including scope definition, design, cost estimation, bid review, scheduling, contract administration, field redesign, startup support, and training.
  • Recommend contractor payments and change orders to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and regulations.
  • Monitor project progress and conduct field investigations to keep projects within budget and schedule.
  • Provide technical assistance, review, troubleshoot, and recommend improved operating and maintenance procedures and techniques.
  • Contribute to capital and O&M budgets for manpower and material allocation for improvement projects; issue requisitions for materials and services.
  • Conduct on‑site forced outage investigations, analyze equipment or malfunction data, and recommend preventive actions.
  • Interact positively with employees, suppliers, and customers; promote teamwork and effective communication.
  • Participate in company emergency response activities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of chemistry, physics, electrical circuits, thermal dynamics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, mechanical design, structural analysis, heat transfer, and vibration analysis.
  • Working knowledge of project management principles.
  • Working knowledge of PCs and relevant software applications.
  • Basic knowledge of cost accounting, economics, and budgeting principles.
  • Basic knowledge of permitting, safety, environmental, and federal/state regulations.
Skills Requirements
  • Ability to analyze raw data, troubleshoot technical problems, and implement corrective actions.
  • Effective communication with all levels of personnel, both verbally and in writing.

Senior Generation Engineer
Job Function

Lead complex project management and engineering activities under the direction of the Senior Supervisor Generation Engineer, providing expert technical support for complex problems and maintaining a programmatic approach.

Essential Functions
  • Direct and coordinate complex capital and O&M projects, managing scope, design, planning, execution, closeout, and contract administration.
  • Create and maintain programs supporting the PSRO program and equipment reliability, including training and technical assistance.
  • Provide input and justify capital and O&M funding needs; issue requisitions for materials and services.
  • Conduct on‑site forced outage investigations and recommend preventive actions.
  • Mentor junior Generation Engineers and support their development.
  • Promote teamwork, facilitate communication, and uphold company values.
Basic Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of chemistry, physics, electrical circuits, thermal dynamics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, mechanical design, structural analysis, heat transfer, and vibration analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and experience managing complex projects.
  • Working knowledge of PCs and relevant software applications.
  • Basic knowledge of cost accounting, economics, budgeting, permitting, safety, environmental, and federal/state regulations.
