Job summary

Mohawk Industries, Inc. in Dalton, GA is seeking a General Maintenance III to perform a wide range of building repairs and system maintenance on a large production floor.

The role includes electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry tasks, with a focus on preventing downtime and ensuring safety. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and strong mechanical/electrical skills, with forklift experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical training preferred.
• Experience performing general maintenance duties including mechanical and electrical work.
• Knowledge of buildings, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, generators.
• Forklift operation experience may be required.
• Ability to read technical documents such as blueprints and schematics.
• Strong math skills and ability to work with measurements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders.

Responsibilities

• Perform building repairs in electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry.
• Maintain heating, cooling, ventilation, and other building systems.
• Install or upgrade equipment and lines; support vendors as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and process work orders promptly.
• Keep logs of maintenance history and inspections.
• Work with teams to uphold safety and procedural standards.
• Be able to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
