Job summary

North American Risk Services is seeking an experienced claims adjuster to manage complex liability files and ensure accurate loss investigations, coverage analysis, and settlement negotiations. The role includes travel to conferences and mentoring junior staff.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in general liability claims and heavy litigation, NY license, and is prepared to obtain FL or other required licenses. This position offers comprehensive benefits and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of prior claim adjusting experience, preferably in general liability.
• 5+ years of heavy litigation experience.
• The eligibility for reserve/payment authority level of $50,000+ when appropriate.
• An active New York Adjuster’s License.
• Willingness and ability to obtain a Florida Adjuster’s License or other required jurisdictional licensing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain claim metrics; must be kept current.
• Handle a case load commensurate with the complexity level of claims assigned.
• Establish facts of loss, coverage analysis, investigation, and determinations of compensability/liability/negligence.
• Coordinate medical care, litigation management, damage assessment, and settlement negotiations.
• Identify potential fraud and manage the use of authorized vendors.
• Ensure timely reserve analysis and report completion.
• Attend conferences and client meetings, including travel.
• Mentor other adjusters as requested.
• Ensure file handling complies with state statutes and company guidelines.
