Job summary

North American Risk Services (NARS) is seeking an experienced claims professional to manage complex liability cases, maintain metrics, and drive settlement negotiations. The role requires strong litigation background and licensing flexibility across jurisdictions.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in claim adjusting and heavy litigation experience, with eligibility for reserve authority and active NY licensure, plus willingness to obtain FL licensure as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-year degree or higher preferred.
• 5+ years of prior claim adjusting experience, preferably in general liability.
• 5+ years of heavy litigation experience.
• Eligibility for reserve/payment authority level of $50,000+ when appropriate.
• Active New York Adjuster’s License.
• Willingness and ability to obtain a Florida Adjuster’s License or other jurisdictional licensing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain claim metrics; must be kept current.
• Handle a case load commensurate with the complexity level of claims assigned.
• Establish facts of loss, coverage analysis, investigation, compensability/liability/negligence determination.
• Coordinate medical care (as appropriate), litigation management, damage assessment, settlement negotiations.
• Identify potential fraud.
• Manage the appropriate use of authorized vendors.
• Ensure timely reserve analysis and report completion.
• Attend conferences, client meetings, and other meetings/events which may include travel.
• Mentor other adjusters as requested.
• Ensure all file handling is within state statutes, clients’ guidelines, and company’s best practices.
• Assist management with other miscellaneous duties as requested.
