Remote Accounting Jobs is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to lead key GAAP close processes, manage journal entries, and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to work independently in a complex environment.

Responsibilities include month-end, balance sheet reconciliations, audits support, and driving process improvements; CPA-eligible candidates with public or private experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• CPA eligibility or active pursuit of CPA licensure is required or preferred.
• Experience in either a public or private company setting is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own complex journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Manage assigned areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Perform and review detailed balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide explanations to management.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
• Support internal and external audits, including interaction with auditors.
• Identify, design, and implement process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Participate in ERP implementations, system upgrades, and accounting transformations.
• Review work prepared by junior staff and provide coaching and mentorship.
