Job summary

Bob’s Discount Furniture, a fast-growing furniture retailer, seeks a General Ledger Accountant in Manchester, CT. You will own month‑end close, journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, and financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in accounting, advanced Excel, and strong communication skills; CPA and SAP/Oracle Cloud experience are a plus. Base pay ranges from $55,000 to $70,000, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting with strong Excel skills.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting is preferred.
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and budgeting analyses.
• SOX knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the GL team and business partners to ensure accurate and timely financial results.
• Prepare and post properly supported journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
• Own daily banking and funding processes.
• Administer fixed asset accounting system and capital accounting.
• Develop and distribute reports for management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other departments to support internal needs and learn broader operations.
• Drive efficient close processes and implement improvements.
• Support external audits and controls compliance.
