Job summary

Wenatchee Valley College seeks a Senior General Ledger Accountant to manage complex accounting entries, analysis, and reconciliations under GAAP. The role involves developing detailed financial reports and supporting the fiscal services team in monthly and year-end closings.

The incumbent will coordinate with SBCTC guidelines and state/federal requirements. Required are a bachelor's degree with accounting hours and at least one year of relevant experience, plus strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing or budgeting.
• One year of relevant professional experience.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Demonstrated understanding of internal controls and separation of duties.
• Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet software (Word and Excel preferred).
• Alternative combination of education and experience allowed if otherwise able to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting activities for the college in line with state and federal guidelines.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy across AP/AR/other FIN transactions.
• Develop and maintain complex financial reports using GAAP guidance.
• Assist in monthly and year-end closing processes.
• Monitor and report on endowments and transfers.
• Prepare and analyze data for financial statements and reporting.
