Job summary

Equify Financial seeks a General Counsel to act as the lead legal representative and strategic advisor to the CEO and Board. The role oversees multi-entity legal strategy, risk management, regulatory compliance, and transactional oversight across equipment finance, SaaS, insurance, and ABL/factoring portfolios.

The position focuses on litigation management, bankruptcy matters, workouts, restructures, and enforcement actions, with a goal of building a disciplined, institutional‑grade legal

Qualifications

• Lead corporate counsel with broad legal oversight and strategic business counsel

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal legal advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors
• Oversee all litigation, disputes, and enforcement actions for Equify and affiliates
• Draft, negotiate, and manage forbearance, settlement, restructuring, and litigation documents
• Prepare and review board materials, resolutions, and governance documents
• Support risk analysis on stressed or non-performing assets
• Provide guidance on credit agreements, loan documents, guarantees, and remedies
• Maintain corporate entity structure, bylaws, and cap tables; draft contracts and employment agreements
• Support M&A, capital raises, warehouse lines, securitizations, and partnerships
• Enable faster deal execution while ensuring compliance
• Support new product launches and territory expansions
• Design and maintain compliance frameworks and internal controls
• Standardize contract templates to reduce risk and friction
