Job summary

SBM Management Services is seeking a General Counsel in California to optimize organizational efficiency on legal matters. You will provide expert legal guidance to management, set internal governance policies, and assess implications of decisions from a legal perspective.

Responsibilities include managing legal matters, contracts governance, outside counsel coordination, and entity formations, with oversight of litigation and corporate documents.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) with 3–5 years of experience or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• May be required to have a valid driver's license.
• Experience with real estate transactions and Fortune 500 contracts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned organizational legal matters.
• Maintain knowledge of the organization's operations and legal documents.
• Promulgate and create directives of corporate acts and decisions.
• Oversee Contracts Department focusing on Customer Agreements and stakeholder alignment; ensure compliance from inception through renewals.
• Develop structure to ensure subcontractor agreements include proper risk transfer provisions.
• Provide legal support and oversight for HR, Procurement, Finance, Marketing, etc.
• Serve as point of contact for all assigned litigation matters.
• Coordinate activities with outside counsel.
• Responsible for entity formations and custodian of corporate documents.
