Job summary

Vanguard Claims Administration, LLC is seeking a General Adjuster to evaluate large commercial losses across New Jersey and surrounding states, including CAT events. The role includes inspecting properties, coordinating with architects, engineers, and carriers to determine loss amounts and policy coverage.

You will mentor Field Adjuster Trainees, organize workload, ensure accurate reporting, and safeguard confidential information in line with SOC 2 standards.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of property claims adjusting with strong commercial property experience.
• Experience handling large, complex residential and commercial claims.
• Knowledge of Lloyds of London claims preferred.
• Ability to present damages clearly in reports to client while logging and maintaining file notes per carrier guidelines.
• Knowledge of coverages within homeowner and commercial policies.
• Ability to write structural damage estimates for severe losses.
• Proficient in report writing and meeting carrier SLAs.
• Ability to manage workload independently with good judgment.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Xactimate and claims management systems.

Responsibilities

• Adjust large commercial losses across New Jersey and surrounding states, including CAT claims.
• Investigate residential and commercial Lloyd’s of London claims in diverse settings.
• Conduct property inspections and photograph claim sites to document losses.
• Obtain information from claimants and experts to assess the extent of loss.
• Collaborate with experts, attorneys, public adjusters, and carrier examiners to verify findings.
• Apply policy knowledge to determine appropriate loss estimates.
• Prepare accurate reports and letters to carriers with conclusions and recommendations.
• Maintain meticulous field notes, time and expense records.
• Manage and train Field Adjuster Trainees, organize workload and provide mentorship.
• Ensure SOC 2 security and data confidentiality compliance; report concerns as needed.
• Perform additional duties to support operations.
