Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior AI Solutions Architect to translate AI strategy into production capabilities, designing, prototyping, and deploying GenAI solutions that drive lighthouse projects and reusable patterns across the AI COE.

You will lead design and implementation of GenAI architectures, collaborate with delivery peers, and mentor spoke-team leads, with growth into broader COE tech leadership within 6–12 months.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of AI development, ML engineering, or applied AI.
• 3+ years hands-on with Generative AI/LLM systems with a BA/BS; MS/PhD preferred.
• Production experience deploying GenAI/LLM apps including RAG and tool-use.
• Hands-on AI/ML solution development across full lifecycle.
• Familiarity with AI frameworks (PyTorch, LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.) and cloud ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy GenAI/LLM solutions to production for lighthouse projects.
• Build and prototype AI applications for enterprise, mission, and customer use cases.
• Work hands-on with foundation models, agent frameworks, RAG architectures, and evaluation harnesses.
• Collaborate with the AI Solutions Architect on JANUS delivery and Council prep.
• Integrate GenAI into enterprise systems and the AI platform under construction.
• Contribute to reusable assets, patterns, and AI engineering best practices.
