Litera seeks an experienced Senior AI Engineer to shape GenAI strategy, architecture, and standards across customer-facing products and internal platforms. You will lead design, collaborate with product, security, and business teams, and drive responsible AI adoption at scale.

You will champion secure coding, build observable GenAI systems, and contribute high-quality code in a fast-growing legal tech environment with a hybrid on-site requirement in Denver.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Deep hands-on experience with Large Language Models, including context engineering and evaluation.
• Experience with LLM observability tooling and defining GenAI quality metrics in production.
• Proficiency in Python, with LangGraph and/or LangChain experience.
• Familiarity with agent-based and multi-agent architectures.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS RESTful APIs and cloud-based backend development.
• Comfortable with PostgreSQL; Azure SQL or SQL Server also acceptable.
• Strong testing practices (unit/integration/evaluation) using pytest.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade GenAI solutions, owning architecture decisions, patterns, and platform standards.
• Act as technical authority on LLMs, agentic systems, and emerging AI technologies, guiding adoption and direction.
• Evaluate, prototype, and document emerging tools and techniques with strategic investments.
• Own estimates, feasibility assessments, and delivery accountability for cross-functional initiatives.
• Establish and maintain GenAI governance standards, including safety, security, and responsible-use guidelines.
• Define and own LLM observability and evaluation standards with tracing and quality metrics.
• Champion secure coding, design patterns, and performance optimization.
• Contribute high-quality, scalable, and secure code with focus on maintainability.
