Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Senior AI Solutions Architect to lead Generative AI efforts within the AI Center of Excellence. You will translate AI strategy into working GenAI capabilities, prototype lighthouse programs, and deliver reusable patterns across the organization.

The role requires senior technical leadership, strong communication, and the ability to navigate ambiguity. Hybrid work near Reston, VA with US citizenship required and a focus on secure, scalable AI deployments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of AI development, ML engineering, or applied AI.
• 3+ years hands-on Generative AI / LLM systems with a relevant degree.
• Production experience deploying GenAI / LLM applications.
• Experience with end-to-end AI lifecycle: design, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy GenAI/LLM-based solutions to production.
• Prototype AI applications for enterprise, mission, and customer use cases.
• Work hands-on with foundation models, agent frameworks, RAG architectures.
• Mentor spoke-team leads and support COE technical readiness.
