Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior AI Solutions Architect to lead GenAI and LLM architecture within the AI COE, translating AI strategy into working capabilities and lighthouse pilots. You will design, prototype, and deploy GenAI solutions that scale across the organization.

The role requires deep technical leadership, hands-on experience with foundation models, and mentoring responsibilities, with hybrid work from the Reston, VA hub and related programs. U.S. Citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Typically 8+ years of AI development or ML engineering experience.
• 3+ years hands-on Generative AI/LLM systems experience; Bachelor's or higher.
• Experience deploying GenAI/LLM apps incl. RAG, agentic workflows, tool-use patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy GenAI/LLM solutions to production for lighthouse projects.
• Build and prototype AI applications supporting enterprise, mission, and customer use cases.
• Work hands-on with foundation models, agent frameworks, RAG architectures, and evaluation harnesses.
• Collaborate with peers on JANUS-tracked delivery and Council package preparation.
• Mentor spoke-team leads and AI developers across the organization.
